Ship Model Manoeuvring Test Facility in India

Project: Large Amplitude Horizontal Planar Motion Mechanism (LAHPMM)

LAHPMM

LAHPMM is a  motion controller mechanism to drive a captive surface ship model in a prescribed sinusoidal or zig-zag paths, that has been selected for evaluation of maneuvering test of a model or a full size ship. Specially designed multi-components balance for measurement of surge force (X), sway force (Y), yaw moment (N), and roll torque/moment (K) can be logged in real time by Cussons powerful Autotest data control system.

Manoeuvring tests results using Large Amplitude Horizontal Planar Motion Mechanism (LAHPMM), will provides the basis for superior predictions of the manoeuvring and course keeping qualities of surface ships.
